ORCHARD TOUR
The Dickinson Family, producers of fruit trees in Summerland since 1912, would like to invite you to visit their farm. Home of fine Okanagan Cherries, Pears, Apricots, Plums, Peaches and Prunes. Come and enjoy fruit fresh from the tree, wander through a 10-acre orchard on a self-guided tour, watch the packing line, play amongst the artifacts... relax and enjoy the experience of nature. You are welcome to pick your own fruit or contact them and they will have it ready for your arrival. Pre-booked guided tours available.
HISTORIC STEAM TRAIN RIDE
Experience the sight, sound, and rhythm of a steam locomotive! The Kettle Valley Steam Railway offers a unique 90 minute journey on one of British Columbia's few remaining fully operational steam railways. Friendly, informative guides bring the history of the railway alive as the train rolls along hillsides overlooking beautiful Okanagan orchards and vineyards. As well, you can listen and sing along to happy Banjo music.
DESERT TOUR
Discover the only true desert in Canada. Tucked into the southernmost corner of the beautiful Okanagan Valley. The Desert Centre is an interpretive education and research facility offering a fascinating excursion along the elevated boardwalk. Experience the intimate beauty of our special desert, an extraordinary habitat that is home to one of North America's most fragile and endangered ecosystems. The area hosts one of the largest concentrations of species at risk (over 100 rare plants and over 300 rare invertebrates) in Canada.
SUMMERLAND SWEETS
In the heart of the Okanagan Valley the combination of liberal sunshine and warm weather provide us with delicious tree and vine ripened fruit abundant in natural flavour. By using original family recipes they capture that flavour to make jams and syrups that taste just like homemade. Stop in for a free tour complete with product sampling and indulge in an ice cream cone while you're there. Be sure to allow time to browse in the gift shop that displays Summerland Sweets products in a variety of pine gift boxes and gift baskets. Sleeping Giant Fruit Winery on premise.
GOLF
The Okanagan Valley is privileged to be the home of some of the most beautiful golf courses in the world. As beautiful as they are challenging, each course is an extraordinary golf experience onto its own.
